  • Middle School Parent Gathering

    Join other SOMS and MMS parents to talk about parenting middle schoolers, specifically, in the digital age.

    This event is open to all middle school families, regardless of what device your child has. Topics will include navigating screen time, social media, IRL gatherings, and overall digital wellness, with the goal of establishing healthy boundaries that help our kids thrive.

  • 5th Grade Parent Gathering (Zoom)

    Team Unscreen invites ALL SOMSD 5th grade (i.e. rising 6th/middle school) families to a special Zoom event featuring a parent panel and interactive breakout conversations on navigating middle school without smartphones and social media.

    Hear from current middle school families on what’s worked, what’s been tough, and how they’ve built support. Breakouts will cover topics like device-free socializing and conversations to have with your child.

  • South Mountain Parent Gathering

    SMS Parents are invited to a gathering at a SMS family home to discuss how we can help kids reclaim childhood in a world of constant screens and social media.

    We’ll talk about the impact of early smartphone use, share practical strategies for delaying it, and explore ways to create a supportive community that prioritizes kids’ well-being. Pick one a date/time and come connect with other parents and learn how we can work together to navigate this challenge!

  • Bike Around Bolden Event

    Join us at Bolden for a morning of BIKING FUN for K-1st graders.

    Get comfortable on two wheels at our mini clinic on the court, sharpen your skills on the track, and then reset with some time on the playground!

    Anything with wheels welcome!

Max Stossel is the Founder of Social Awakening, an organization dedicated to helping young people survive and thrive in the modern world.

Before working in this field Max was a media strategist with an extensive background in social media. In his talks, Max illustrates the specific ways it is is designed to be addictive & distracting, highlights how that's impacting our kids’ minds and gives recommendations on how to address some of the challenges you and your family are facing.
